Westin Camino Real Guatemala City Hotel Review Part 1

I booked one night at the Westin Camino Real Guatemala City hotel for 3,500 Starpoints and $55. I used a suite night award and the upgrade cleared into a Deluxe Suite a few days prior. I was arriving at 7am from Los Angeles so I asked the hotel if I could check in early. The hotel said that it would accommodate my early arrival request.

I took a free shuttle from La Aurora International Airport (GUA) that was labeled Westin Camino Real on the exterior van. The van was located outside the arrivals hall area and it only took 5 minutes to get to the hotel.

The lobby was very ornate and luxuriously decorated with a Guatemalan flag.

The front desk agent advised me that I had been upgraded to one of their deluxe suites and he said that my room was available. I asked for a 4pm late checkout and it was granted. He advised me that there was evening appetizers and breakfast available in the executive lounge.

The deluxe suite was basically more like a junior suite since there was no partition between the living room and the bedroom. The suite consisted of a sofa, TV, executive desk, and a King size bed.

There was a local welcome gift placed on the bed.
