Ajman Saray Resort Hotel Review

For my first night in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), I decided on the Ajman Saray Hotel because it was a brand new Starwood hotel and I got a really good rate. I booked the Ajman Saray Resort Hotel for $92.18 + tax = $110.62 on a Starwood Best Rate Guarantee (BRG) which meant I would receive an additional 2,000 Starpoints after my stay.

The Ajman Saray hotel is located 45 minutes north of Dubai city-center and 30 minutes from Dubai International Airport (DXB).

The lobby was quite grand with pictures of the sheikhs on the wall.

At check-in, the front desk agent offered me a cold wet towel. I’ve never been given a towel at a hotel during check-in and I thought it was a nice gesture.

Afterwards, he offered me a complimentary glass of juice which was refreshing.

He advised me that I had been upgraded to a one-bedroom suite and that breakfast was held at the lobby restaurant the next morning. I took the 500 Starpoints as my platinum welcome amenity and declined the late check-out.

The living room consisted of a an L-shaped sleeper sofa, executive work desk, and a TV.

There was also a living room table with four chairs and a welcome amenity which consisted of a fruit and cheese tray and a bottle of wine.

The living room also had bottles of complimentary water, an illy coffee machine, and a minibar below.

There was also a half bathroom to the left of the living room entry-way.

The bedroom consisted of a King size bed with a surprise gift at the foot of the bed.

The gift was actually a picture of my Twitter profile and a card which read:

“Dear Jamison

Good Day!

We are delighted to welcome you in Ajman Saray. We are honored to provide you a remarkable experience. Sit back and relax while you enjoy listening to your favorite musics compiled for you as our simple gift. Enjoy your stay.

Front Office Team”

That was simply shocking to see a picture of myself on a frame. I guess the hotel did a simple Google Search on my name and found my Twitter profile, but that’s not the end of it.

Beneath the card was a music CD which had a compilation of my Instagram pictures from the World Cup. I’m guessing they found my Instagram profile on Google as well since I had no contact with the hotel prior to arrival. The note did say ‘enjoy listening to your favorite music’ which I found out the CD contained mostly John Mayer music which I actually like! How did they know? I have no idea.

The bedroom also contained a flat screen LCD TV.

The bathroom had an open tub in the middle with a double basin sink.

There was also a toilet with a bidet and a private standing shower with Molton Brown bath amenities.

The best part about the room was the balcony which featured sweeping views of the resort pool and beach.

I decided to not partake on breakfast since I wanted to have breakfast in Ajman city-center, but Travel Summary did.

Overall, I really liked the Ajman Saray Hotel and the personalized touches from check-in to the in-room surprises. This hotel really knows how to treat Starwood Platinum members and the resort grounds are simply beautiful. The Ajman Saray has a large pool with beachfront access away from the hustle and bustle of Dubai.
