The Sights and Sounds of the Gold Souk in Dubai

The Gold Souk (sometimes spelled as the Gold Souq) is one of the most touristy attractions in the Deira neighborhood. If you’re in the market for some gold, by all means definitely shop at the Gold Souk since you can get a really good deal by haggling. Otherwise, skip this ‘attraction’ because there’s not much to see or do.

After hanging out in downtown Deira, we walked west towards the Gold Souq where we were greeted by all sorts of hawkers trying to lure us into their business storefronts.

You can buy all sorts of gold jewelry and watches from the various vendors inside the Gold Souk.

There are also jewelry shops right outside the Gold Souk if you’re looking for more of a variety.

The most important thing about walking in Deira on a hot summer day is hydration. Always have a bottle of water on hand or buy it from the vending machines. There are always beverage vendors walking by trying to sell you water for 1-2 Dirhams.
