Hotel Kamp Helsinki Hotel Review Part 1

I booked the Hotel Kamp Helsinki hotel for 13,100 American AAdvantage miles. The rates at this property were going for over $250 and I felt like I got a good deal since I have so many American Airlines miles. I put in a request for the hotel to add my Starwood Platinum guest number and the hotel happily complied. I split up this review into two parts – Part 1 is the hotel room review and Part 2 is the restaurant breakfast review.

I took a bus from Helsinki airport to the city-center (Railway Square) and it took 5 minutes to walk to the hotel which was very convenient.

The front desk agent welcomed me and said that she had my Platinum number on file. She said that she upgraded me to the Kamp Suite from a standard room. I was pleasantly shocked at the upgrade since I was already pre-upgraded to a Junior Suite according to the SPG app. I told her that I would take the breakfast as my Platinum amenity.

I made a video of my Kamp Suite:

The living room was simply astounding. It had an old world charm and felt more of like a library. There were huge bookcases filled with Finnish books. The living room also contained plenty of seating and a large TV.

There was a welcome amenity bottle of wine along with a note from the General Manager wishing me a pleasant stay.

The bedroom area contained a king size bed along with a television set.

From the living room, you have to go through a series of in-suite hallways to get to the restroom area.

The bathroom was large and contained double basin sinks with Molton Brown amenities.

There was also a bathtub with a separate shower area. There was also a green plastic duck in the bathtub area.

Part 2 of this review will focus on the restaurant breakfast for Platinum guests.

  1. Hope I get this suite. Do you know the difference between the junior and the kemp suite?
