The Sights and Sounds of Helsinki Finland

I spent 2 nights in Helsinki and walked throughout the different neighborhoods to get a real sense of what the Finnish culture was all about. This is a three part sub series starting with the general sights and sounds of Helsinki Finland, followed by the Design District neighborhood, and the Baltic Herring Festival.

The heart of the city is in the main central train station which is called Railway Square.

Helsinki is a very walkable city and you can get to the seaside within 20 minutes of walking distance. Helsinki also has an amazing network of public transportation which includes buses, trams, and even a Metro subway station.

You can also find many shopping centers and malls throughout Helsinki. One of my favorite ones is the Forum which is by far the largest commercial shopping center in Helsinki.

All throughout the city, you can find many small parks and some of them even have monuments and churches.
