American Airlines LAX-MIA 757-200 First Class

I flew from Los Angeles to Miami on American Airlines so I could catch my connecting flight to Bogota, Colombia. I’ve had a few readers ask me to review a recent transcontinental flight on American Airlines since I normally don’t review US domestic flights.

After leaving the Flagship Lounge at LAX, I went to my gate with a beautiful view of American and Delta planes.

Service began with a hot wet towel.

I had my usual Cranberry and Vodka with lime. I like it when flight attendants correct me and say “Is cran-apple okay?” Of course my answer is yes.

As the main entrée, I chose the Breakfast Skillet which is comprised of fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. The entrée came with a fruit plate and a choice of bread (in this case, I chose a biscuit). My favorite breakfast dish on American Airlines is the Breakfast Skillet and it was delicious.

The flight clocks in a little over 4 hours, so there was an arrival snack served an hour before landing. I had the fruit and cheese plate along with a coke with lime. The fruit and cheese plate was excellent hitting my palette.

After that, the flight attendant served an oatmeal cranberry raisin cookie with a choice of beverage that was pre-arranged (water, sparkling water, or milk). You can’t go wrong with a freshly baked on board cookie on American Airlines. It was simply delicious and crunchy (just the way I like it). I had the sparkling water with the citrus fruit garnish which is very rare to see on flights nowadays.

The flight service and meals were excellent and although I was a bit disappointed I wasn’t on a 777 international configured plane, it was decent on a 757-200 recliner. I actually flew MIA-LAX on a 777 breakfast flight in Business Class yesterday and received the exact same meals. The breakfast skillet I had yesterday was a bit different and contained scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sliced sausage (instead of bacon).
