Westin Singapore Hotel Review Part 1

I booked the Westin Singapore Hotel on a cash and points rate of 6,000 Starpoints and $110 USD. The hotel was going for well over $400+ tax. I booked the Westin Singapore before it was scheduled to open last year. I had used one of my Suite Night Awards on a Presidential Suite and I wrote a post on how the Westin Singapore Hotel Cancelled My Presidential Suite Upgrade Request. Needless to say, I was disappointed, but went ahead and requested the Sea View Suite. My upgrade cleared five days prior to arrival.

I took the Singapore MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) from Geyland to Downtown Station. From the Downtown Station, it was only a 5 minute walk to the Westin Singapore Hotel. I was greeted by one of the employees outside and they directed me to take the elevator up to the lobby.

I arrived pretty early at around 9am and I was informed that my room was not ready. I informed the hotel that I was checking in early and they said that they would do my best to accommodate me. The front desk agent said that my room would be ready in an hour and invited me to the Club Lounge for breakfast.

I took her up on her offer and enjoyed breakfast with the beautiful view of the infinity pool.

An hour passed by and the club lounge attendant informed me that my suite was ready.

Here is a video I took of the Sea View Suite at the Westin Singapore:

When I walked into the suite, I was greeted by the beautiful half bathroom which contained a sink and a toilet.

The living room contained an executive work desk, plush sofa, and a flat screen TV.

The bedroom consisted of a King size bed and a TV.

I was surprised that the room had a clock radio with an Apple Lightning Connector. It’s so rare to see a hotel equipped with an iPhone 5/5S lightning adapter and I always see hotels with the iPhone 2/3G/3GS/4/4S connector.

The bathroom had a double basin sink with the usual Westin amenities. There was also a toilet and a Westin Heavenly shower.

The best thing about the room was the bathtub with skyscraper views of Singapore.

This is one of the sea views from the living room, hence it’s called the Sea View Suite. The view isn’t that great because there’s so much construction going on. The sea view was basically a bunch of fisherman on boats.

Continue to Part 2 of this review, where I review the Club Lounge breakfast and my final thoughts of the property.

  1. Just stayed at the Westin Singapore as well, last week. Did you notice an Airplay connection when you selected Wifi in your room? I did, attempted to connect (it required some authentication), but never got it to work. First time I had seen this option in a hotel …
