W Singapore Sentosa Cove Hotel Review Part 2

I found out there was a Singapore InstaMeet (Instagram enthusiasts from Singapore) and that it was being held at the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove Hotel. The W Insider noticed that I was an Instagram addict myself and invited me to the InstaMeet where I got to meet a lot Singaporean locals who are basically addicted to Instagram.

After the InstaMeet, we mingled out in the “Living Room” which is basically the lobby area of the W Singapore. During the evenings, the Living Room is turned into a nightclub where the lights are dimmed and the music is turned up with a local DJ.

Complimentary cocktails and appetizers were served to the Singapore InstaMeet guests courtesy of the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove Hotel.

After mingling around the lobby for a bit, I took a self-tour around the property and the W Insider happened to introduce me to the Executive Chef of SKIRT – The Boldest Grill, the on-site hotel restaurant. He asked me if I had plans for tonight and invited me to dinner at SKIRT. I said, “Sure, why not?”

I didn’t know what I was getting myself into and I was welcomed by the W Insider to join a table with the W Singapore hotel executives (including the General Manager) and a French journalist. The table had a pre-fixe menu which read as follows:

We were given a bottle of apple bourbon and a bottle of SKIRT’s BBQ sauce. The waiter instructed us to cleanse our palette with the small bottle of apple bourbon.

King Prawns – Split and Peppered

Blackmore Australian Full Blood Wagyu – Marbling Score 9+ Skirt

Pink Peppercorn Pavlova – Berry Compote, Beetroot Sorbet

The food was absolutely delicious and it’s one of the few fine dining restaurants on Sentosa Island. Singaporean locals rave about this restaurant and go out of their way to come here to celebrate a special occasion.

(Full Disclosure: I was invited as a guest at SKIRT and the pre-fixe menu is normally $168 SGD++ per person. Their pre-fixe menu changes on a seasonal basis.)

Later that night I was still hungry and decided to order satay from the room service menu. I found the room service prices pretty reasonable in Singapore and it’s convenient because there aren’t many options on Sentosa Island to grab a bite to eat on demand.

I’ve stayed at many W Hotels around the world and my favorite one so far is the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove. I was just absolutely in love with my AWAY Spectacular Room with a private plunge pool. Once I checked into the hotel, I did not leave the hotel even once because the room was so nice. Many Singaporean locals often stay in Sentosa Island and the W Singapore to get away from it all and call it their staycation. There is a complimentary shuttle with free pick up and drop off at VivoCity Mall at the Harbourfront. I used the shuttle to get to the HarbourFront MRT station and took it all the way to Changi International Airport (SIN). I highly recommend staying at the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove if you have time because it’s truly an amazing experience.
