The Sights and Sounds of FIFA Fan Fest in Curitiba Brazil

I was only in Curitiba for one night and it was during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. There was no scheduled match in Curitiba during the day, so I wanted to watch the other matches on the big screen TV with locals at FIFA Fan Fest. FIFA Fan Fest in Curitiba was located on the grounds of Pedreira Paulo Leminski which is an outdoor venue.

One of the requirements of attending the Curitiba FIFA Fan Fest was to obtain a free wristband at the Curitiba Memorial Building in Old Town Curitiba (Largo da Ordem).

I took a public bus from Downtown Curitiba to Pedreira Paulo Leminski where it was a short walk to the closed road of the FIFA Fan Fest entrance. There was a lot of private security around the outdoor venue.

In addition to private security was the presence of the local policia (police).

I entered the venue with my pink wristband and went through a metal detector.

There were a lot of sponsored booths including a gift shop, food vendors, and drink vendors.

The venue was huge and it wasn’t packed at all, mostly due to the national team (Brazil) not playing for the day.

I watched Chile v. Australia duke it out on the big outdoor screen while downing a local Brazilian beer called Brahma.
