The Sights and Sounds of Liaoning Night Market in Taipei

During my stay at The Westin Taipei Hotel, I had a chance to check out the Liaoning Night Market which was within walking distance. The Liaoning Night Market was the smallest night market I visited during my time in Taipei. The main focus of the Liaoning Night Market is food (particularly seafood), but there’s no shopping for clothes, DVD’s, and there aren’t any carnival style games to be had.

You can get to the Liaoning Night Market by taking the MRT to the Nanjing East Road MRT Station and walk south towards Liaoning Street. The Liaoning Night Market is basically concentrated on one street which isn’t pedestrian friendly since you have to watch out for cars and motorcycles.

Although the Liaoning Night Market is small, it was also uncrowded due to it being relatively unknown to tourists. Liaoning Street is basically lined up with tons of delicious street food vendors.

I went to a street stall that served noodles with minced meat and it was delicious.

I also went to a restaurant where there was seafood displayed outside and I wanted to try some of the fresh seafood since Liaoning is mostly known for that. I picked out a giant squid and it was served with pig’s blood cake which was delicious.
