W Hong Kong Hotel Review Part 2

Part 1 of this review was about my experience at the W Hong Kong Hotel’s Fantastic Suite. Part 2 of this review will be about the Woobar and my Platinum amenity breakfast at Kitchen restaurant. I loved the Woobar at the W Singapore – Sentosa Cove and the W Taipei which is a signature bar exclusively at select W Hotels worldwide.

After settling down in my beautiful Fantastic Suite, I went to the Woobar to have a drink since I received a complimentary voucher for Gold and Platinum guests from the front desk agent.

I presented the voucher at the Woobar and the bartender told me that I could pick out from a list of specialty drinks from the menu. There was so much to choose from such as Tango No. 2, Yuzu Blossom, Jalisco’s Asian Delight, Guatemalan Cloud, Lychee Bubbles, Scottish Nightcap, Tonga’s Passion, Soul Sense, Mati Tai, Yeoman’s Punch, and Mexican Burlesque.

The bartender recommended Tonga’s Passion which was made with tonga island dark rum, dolin blanc vermouth, passion fruit, lemon juice, pineapple juice, and sugar syrup. The drink looked exotic with a passion fruit garnish. Needless to say, it was a delicious drink and I’m glad I took the bartender’s recommendation.

The next morning, I went down to the lobby restaurant called Kitchen to have breakfast. The buffet spread consisted of congee (jook), egg rolls, soy sauce egg, noodles, fried rice, bok choy, chicken,, potatoes, bacon, tomatoes, hash browns, sausage, mushrooms, quiche, and soup.

There was also an omelet station and crepe station with pancakes and waffles.

There was also a noodle bar with two types of noodles.

Sushi was also available in addition to cold individual side dishes.

There was also an array of dim sum available (This is Hong Kong after all) along with fresh fruits.

Cold deli meats and various cheeses were also available.

In addition, there was a large variety of cereal in the cereal bar along with a bread station.

If you’re still hungry or have a sweet tooth, check out the dessert bar which has various tarts, cinnamon rolls, muffins, croissants, cupcakes, gummy bears, more muffins, and a variety of donuts.

Beverages include fruit juice, milk, and water infused drinks.

I had a traditional Asian breakfast which consisted of fried rice, noodles, bok choy, dim sum, soy sauce egg, and congee which was delicious.

I had a fantastic time at the W Hong Kong hotel and the staff was wonderful during my entire stay. Platinum recognition was exceptional during my stay even though I redeemed 20,000 Starpoints for a free night. I also find it very convenient that the W Hong Kong hotel is located within the Elements Mall because there’s In-Town check in to Hong Kong Airport. You can literally walk from the hotel to the mall and check in for your flight (even your bags!) and proceed directly on a train to the airport.

Backtrack to Part 1 where I review the Fantastic Suite.
