Hong Kong Airport Cathay Pacific The Cabin Lounge

There are plenty of lounges at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) to choose from and Cathay Pacific has six of them. I’ve previously reviewed ‘The Wing’ First Class Lounge, but there’s also a Business Class lounge there as well. There’s also a lounge called ‘The Arrivals’ for arriving premium passengers. The other three lounges are called ‘The Pier’, ‘The Bridge’ (also previously reviewed), and ‘The Cabin’. This review will be for ‘The Cabin’ Lounge.

After checking out ‘The Bridge’ lounge by Gate 35, I proceeded to another Cathay Pacific lounge called ‘The Cabin’ by Gate 23 which was a short walk.

I was able to access ‘The Cabin’ because I was flying on a First Class ticket from HKG-NRT (Hong Kong to Tokyo Narita, Japan). Business Class ticketed passengers, oneworld sapphires and emeralds are also eligible for access to The Cabin lounge.

From the moment I stepped into The Cabin, I saw a sea of people with each seat being taken.  There was almost literally no place to put down your belongings and thank goodness I wasn’t in the lounge too long.

The buffet area was crowded and the breakfast spread consisted scrambled eggs, sausage, noodles, dumplings, congee (jook), bread, and assorted pastries.

Juices and milk along with water was also available for self-service.

The best thing about The Cabin lounge was ‘The Deli’ which features made to order sandwiches, Italian appetizers, and fresh salads.

Out of the three Cathay Pacific Lounges I’ve visited thus far at Hong Kong International Airport (Chek Lap Kok), ‘The Cabin’ takes the cake as the worst CX lounge.
