The Sights and Sounds of Lan Kwai Fong in Hong Kong

Lan Kwai Fong (LKF) is famously known for its raunchy bar scene, trendy restaurants, and nightclubs located in the Central district of Hong Kong Island. Lan Kwai Fong is mostly known as L.K.F to college-aged students and ex-pats who mostly patronize these bars and restaurants.

I was at Hong Kong MTR Station one night and wanted to catch a taxi to LKF outside the IFC Mall. I couldn’t believe the ginormous taxi line during evening work rush hour! Another option was to take the MTR to Central station and walk 6 minutes to LKF, but I was a bit lazy.

Lan Kwai Fong is basically a huge block surrounded by four major streets filled with ex-pats, tourists, and locals. Be aware that it’s a loud place as every establishment seems to be blaring their music to attract customers.

There are restaurants such as Hard Rock Café and Al’s Diner (not sure why you should want to eat here).

Most people come to Lan Kwai Fong for the bar scene which seemed like every bar was offering a happy hour special of some sort.

I wasn’t in Lan Kwai Fong for too long as it started raining shortly thereafter but I wanted to check it out since it’s also a tourist attraction of some sort. If you’re thirsty, definitely hit up L.K.F. because there are happy hour specials everywhere. As far as nightlife goes, you can probably find prostitutes lurking in this area after midnight.
