Taipei Airport Cathay Pacific First and Business Class Lounge

There are many lounge options at Taipei International Airport (TPE) and I was lucky enough to try out the Cathay Pacific First and Business Class Lounge in Terminal 1. It was my first time in a Cathay Pacific lounge ever before flying my very first Cathay Pacific flight segment from Taipei to Hong Kong (TPE-HKG).

The Cathay Pacific First and Business Class lounge is located airside (past security) on the 4th floor of Terminal 1.

I was able to access the Cathay Pacific First and Business Class lounge because I am a oneworld emerald member which grants lounge access no matter what cabin of service you’re flying in.

When you first enter the Cathay Pacific lounge, you are in the Business Class side. You have to continue straight down the hallway until you reach and unmarked door if you want to get to the First Class lounge. The Business Class lounge section was small and crowded in some areas.

There’s also a business center equipped with iMac desktop computers.

The Business Class lounge spread consisted of sandwiches, crackers, pastries, veggies, and pork buns.

The highlight of the buffet was the infamous Cathay Pacific noodle bar where you can choose from Beef Noodle (spicy), Dry Noodles with Minced Pork (spicy), Pickles & Shredded Pork Noodles, or Mixed Vegetable Noodles.

There was also water, milk, juice, espresso maker, and a soda fountain with an alcoholic beverage dispenser.

There was also canned beer in the fridge.

I had a pork bun with veggies and the spicy beef noodle soup which was delicious.

As I mentioned before, the First Class lounge is located past the Business Class lounge in an unmarked door (red arrow in the picture). No lounge dragons police the First Class lounge since it’s really far from the check in desk.

tpecathaylounge33

The First Class lounge section was a third of the size of the Business Class lounge. There were only a handful of people occupied in the First Class lounge.

tpecathaylounge21

There was also a business center in the First Class lounge which had an ample amount of workspace including HP desktop computers. I thought the First Class lounge would have iMacs like the Business Class lounge.

The buffet spread in the First Class lounge consisted of fried rice, deli meat, canapés, sandwiches, salad, cake, and cookies.

Beverages included soft drinks in the fridge, soda fountain, and a spirits dispenser. There was also white and red wine available.

tpecathaylounge29 tpecathaylounge30

I had fried rice, a sandwich, and a cold deli meat. The fried rice was excellent and so was the sandwich and deli meat.
