The Westin Taipei Hotel Review Part 1

My second Starwood night in Taipei was at the Westin Taipei hotel on a BRG rate of $220+ tax which was quite reasonable. Luxury hotel rates are ridiculously high in Taipei city-center, but it’s worth staying in a central location. Part 1 of this review will go over the room details and the Westin Executive Club Lounge. Part 2 of this hotel review will go over the lobby restaurant breakfast offerings.

I took the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) subway metro to Nanjing East Road Station where it was a 4 minute walk to the Westin Taipei hotel. The front desk agent advised me that I was upgraded to an Executive Suite which I had used a Suite Night Award (SNA) and cleared five days prior to arrival.

The Executive One-bedroom Suite living room consisted of an executive desk with a fax machine/printer combination, TV, and sofa.

There was also a personalized welcome letter with a fruit basket, peanuts, and two cans of local Taiwanese beer.

The living room also had a mini bar with a coffee maker.

The bedroom consisted of a King size bed, chair, and TV (not pictured).

The bathroom had a single basin sink with the usual Westin bath amenities, standing shower, and a large bathtub.

Since I was a Starwood Preferred Platinum member, I had access to the Westin Executive Club Lounge which I visited for evening appetizers. I was only able to take a few pictures of the lounge before the attendant told me that pictures were not allowed. As far as I can remember, the evening appetizers were really good.
