Ramada Costa del Sol Lima Airport Hotel Review Part 1

I booked the Ramada Costa del Sol Airport hotel using 10,900 American Airlines miles. It made sense to use miles because the hotel rates at the Ramada across the street from Lima International Airport are often $200 a night. I chose this hotel because my flight arrived at midnight and my flight left at 8am the next morning, so it was very convenient.

I’ve never stayed at a Ramada hotel in my life and didn’t know what to expect. My expectations were not high for an airport hotel in South America, or anywhere in the world for that matter. The Ramada hotel is located within walking distance across the street from the arrivals hall. There is also an elevated bridge in the departures level to reach the hotel.

When I entered the hotel, I thought I was at a nightclub. There was hip music playing in the background and purple mood lighting.

The front desk agent checked me in and told me that my room was prepaid and that I needed to put down a credit card for incidentals. I asked if there were any better rooms available and he didn’t say a word. He just told me that breakfast was included in my room rate and that it was in the main restaurant. In addition, he handed me a drink coupon that could be used at the lobby bar that was open 24 hours. Notice that the walk-up rates are $320 a night for a standard room and this hotel is often sold out on a nightly basis because it’s the only on-site airport hotel.

When I went up to my room, I was shocked that he assigned me a junior suite since my rate was for a standard room. The living room contained a TV, executive desk, and a sofa with a coffee table.

The bedroom area contained two full sized beds, a TV, and an executive work desk.

In addition, there was a small circular glass table with two chairs.

The bathroom had a sink with bath amenities and a First Class hair dryer.

There was also a standing shower, but the jetted tub was the highlight of the room.
