I added my Delta Airlines Gold Medallion number (Skyteam Elite Plus) to my reservation and was able to get a complimentary upgrade. Delta Airlines codeshares with Alaska Airlines and part of the Gold Medallion benefits is being able to receive complimentary upgrades on award tickets.

Boarding began and the jet way was already jammed due to many families with children and elderly being able to pre-board early.

The Boeing 737-800 is a 2-2 configuration in First Class.

I had plenty of legroom in my bulkhead aisle seat.

The flight attendant offered a pre-departure beverage and I chose water.

After reaching cruising altitude, I had a coke with lime and hot nuts.

Afterwards, a light meal was served and I had the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw.
